Einmal Dame sein... Ladies Bag

Das gestrige schöne Wetter führte mich in den Garten. Aber nein, nicht um den Rasen zu düngen... Meine Freundin hatte ihren Basteltisch kurzerhand nach draußen gestellt und so genossen wir Sonnenschein und Kleberduft. Mein letzer Flohmarktfund bestand unter anderem aus einer Handtasche aus den 80ern. Aber in meinem jetzigen Alter brauche ich etwas Damenhaftes: Also wurde umgebaut:

Die Tasche wurde elfenbein lackiert (ja, Ihr habt richtig gelesen!), nur leicht, damit die Lederporen sichtbar blieben. Dann bekam die Fläche noch einen Überzug aus Möbelwachs (oder Schuhcréme). Darauf klebte ich das Bild (Rahmen: Tim Holtz Prägeschablone, Creme lackiert, Möbelwachs, leicht mit Goldacryl bestrichen. "Glasscheibe" besteht aus Plastikverpackung, feines Damenbild von Farfarhill), Spitzen und Knöpfe. Der Henkel besteht aus einer silbernen Halskette vom Flohmarkt. Nun hängt das Täschchen an der Wand und ärgert mit seiner Mädchenspitzenromantikattitüde meinen Mann...

Yesterday's beautiful weather lead me into the garden. No, no, no plan to work on the lawn or cut the trees...
My friend had moved her crafting table outside so we could enjoy both sunshine and the smell of glue. What else can a girl ask for? One of my last fleamarket finds was this handbag from the eighties. But my age asks for something more ladylike now. So I had to remodel a bit:

The bag got an ivory acrylic varnish, just a slight one so that the leather can still be identified. Then I polished the surface with furniture wax (or shoe polish). The image is framed by a Tim Holtz embossed frame, the "glass" is made of sturdy plastic wrapping, the image is from Farfarhill. This is added by lace, pieces of brocade fabric, buttons and a brooch. The handle is an old silver chain.
The bag has become a wall decoration now and annoys my husband with all its lacy, girly romanticism... But that's what (some) girls are dreaming of (from time to time)...

Schmetterlinge im Bauch - Butterfly Wreath (Tutorial)

"Welchen Haushaltsgegenstand würden Sie auf eine einsame Insel nehmen?"
Was würdet Ihr auf diese Frage antworten? (Abgesehen von der Überlegung, ob Männer, Kinder, Fernseher und Haustiere als Haushaltsgegenstände zu bezeichnen sind).
Meine Antwort ist momentan definitiv, laut und deutlich: Meinen Silhouette-Plotter.
Das ist eine Schneidemaschine, die wirklich alles, was man ihr per einfacher Software vorgibt, druckt und ausschneidet. Ohne Wenn und Aber. Sie läuft bei mir auf Hochtouren. Es gibt nichts, was sie nicht kann (außer vielleicht Kaffee kochen und das Badezimmer putzen). Sie schneidet Stoff, Folien, stellt Schablonen her...
Hier ist mein neuestes Projekt, inspiriert vom Frühling, den Schmetterlingen im Bauch, wenn ich meinen Mann sehe (na ja, irgendwie muß ich ja auf den Punkt Schmetterling kommen) und dem Thema bei Country View Craft's Challenges: "Butterflies"

"Which household items would you take on a deserted island?" What would be your answer? (Not taking into consideration, if husbands, children, televisions and pets can count to household items?)
My answer is loud and cleard: My Silhouette-Plotter. 
You might know about it, but for those who don't: It's an extremely versatile tool, it cuts everything fed into the simple software. It prints and cuts, you can feed it with paper, fabric, vinyl...

This is my latest project, inspired by spring, the butterflys in my stomach when I see my hubby (ok. ok. I need to get to the topic "butterfly" somehow) and April's Country View Craft's challenge "Butterflies".

Dressform Tutorial oder "Autsch, eine Nadel im Zeh..."

Die Sonne scheint, die Krokusse blühen, alles ist neu... So auch meine Garderobe. Meine Nähmaschine ist schon aus der Puste, die Werkstatt verwüstet! Fadenenden, Stofffetzen und ja, auch Stecknadeln, warten auf Füße, die unachtsam über sie hinwegtreten (was bei Stofffetzen wohl eher in den Wellnessbereich abzutun ist...).
Zeit für ein neues Nadelkissen!
Beim abendlichen Surfen bin ich über dieses geniale Tutorial von Diydish gestolpert. Leinenreste hatte ich im Fundus, einen alten Holzschmuckständer fand ich auf dem Flohmarkt (Diydish verwenden Kerzenständer). Das i-Tüpfelchen ist natürlich der Aufdruck, den ich bei der genialen Graphicsfairy fand (hier werde ich IMMER fündig!). Das Tutorial mitsamt Bildern findet Ihr wenn Ihr weiterblättert.

The sun is shining brightly, the crocuses are in full bloom, everything is new... The same with my clothes. The sewing machine is out of breath, the studio devastated! The ends of threads, textile pieces and yes, pins too, are waiting for bare feet, haphazardly stepping on them (which might be regarded as a wellness sensation in regard to the textiles).

Some time ago, I stumbled over this genious tutorial by Diydish. I had some linnen leftovers, an old wooden jewelry stand from the fleamarket (Diydish use candle holders). The icing on the cake, the beautiful print, comes, as most of times, from the ever so generous graphicsfairy.

Es wird Zeit, sich mal um Euch zu kümmern! Und Danke zu sagen. Dafür, dass Ihr meine Reise hier auf meinem Blog mitverfolgt, mir durch die vielen wohlmeinenden Kommentare mein Selbstbewußtsein in schwindelnde Höhen treibt, dafür, dass ich auf all Euren Seiten so viel Inspiration erfahren darf und die Resultate Euch hier so gerne vorstelle...
Also habe ich gebastelt und gewerkelt. Nur für Euch, meine lieben Blogfreundinnen. Ich habe drei Giveaways:
Die erste "Kollektion" ist für die Spitzen/Leinen-Front unter Euch und beinhaltet was Ihr hier seht (bis auf das Sofa auf dem das Foto gemacht wurde).

Die zweite Sammlung ist für diejenigen, die es eher rustikal lieben. (Das Rosenornament ist alt und aus Wachs).

 

Und das dritte Giveaway besteht aus diesem Buch in englischer Sprache, in dem ihr viele tolle Tips und Anregungen für Collagen bekommt, die sicher auf jeden Bastelbereich ausgedehnt werden können. Das Buch ist in englischer Sprache, durch die Bilder aber relativ selbsterklärend.
